GCSE Art and Design
GCSE Applied Art consists of 2 units of work:
2D and 3D Material Experimentation
External Exam, Working to an applied art brief.
Unit 1
Students explore a vast range of media and techniques including drawing and painting, printing, clay, mod-rock, wire and card. Students produce a research sketchbook, and a range of final pieces in 2D and 3D materials. Students consolidate their learning by creating a range of professionally finished final pieces, designed for a specific purpose and audience.
Unit 2
Externally set exam brief; research completed at least 6 weeks before exam date, final piece completed in 10 hour exam.
